The Center participated again this summer in the popular Summer Simulation Camp for high school students participating in the FSU College of Medicine SSTRIDE Program (Science Students Together Reaching Instructional Diversity in Education). The camp, funded by West Florida AHEC, gave students an opportunity to explore, and experience, health careers on a new level through patient simulation. They participated in interactive classes with nursing care simulations, computerized intravenous simulations, and simulated heart and lung sounds. They participated in a simulated birth and care for the newborn. Using the mock ambulance lab and the emergency room suites, the students worked with trauma scenarios. The final experience involved participants in a mock disaster scenario.
