Automotive Technology

Welcome to the Automotive Technology Department

The field of automotive service technicians is one of the fastest growing careers in the United States. Using an increasing number of computerized diagnostic devices, technicians troubleshoot and repair the electronically and computer controlled systems and subsystems found in today's complex automotive machines. PJC's programs focus on electrical systems, engine repair, brake systems, suspension and steering, and heating and air conditioning. Automotive service technicians may also be employed as service writers, service managers, parts' managers, owners of service facilities, manufacturer's representatives, trainers and teachers. PJC offers both an evening college-degree program as well as a daytime vocational certificate program. Both programs focus on preparing students for the ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification examinations.
