Education

 Welcome to the Education Department

Is your future a degree or certification in education? Whether you’re interested in working in schools, child care centers or rehabilitation settings with toddlers, tweens, and teens, PJC can prepare you for a career working with children of all ages as a teacher or assistant in a classroom or child development facility. Our programs encourage a student-centered method of education which allows students to take a more active role in the learning process, which in turn, makes the learning more relevant. Students are provided an opportunity to experience teaching as early as the Freshman year to ensure that this career path is a good match for their interests and talents. Our partnership with Escambia and Santa Rosa County Schools provides the students with additional opportunities for working with practicing teachers to further expand their knowledge and experience base. Those students desiring to teach may begin their educational career at PJC, preparing for a career in elementary, secondary, or special education classrooms. To meet the expanded Florida requirements for childcare workers, PJC also offers a variety of programs from CDA certification to AA/AS degrees in Early Childcare.
