A Federally Funded TRIO Program

How the Program Works

• High school specialists meet with their students individually and/or in small groups,  for 15 – 20 minutes, a minimum of 4 times, before the end of the school year.
• The middle school specialist meets students 2 times a month, in 15 – 20 minute sessions. 
• All lessons are designed to help students successfully transition from high school to college and focus on:
  • Time management
  • Goal setting
    
  • Self esteem
    
  • College information and awareness
    
  • Career planning / options
    
  • Study skills
    
  • Test taking strategies
• School specialists meet with high school seniors and assist families and students with the financial aid process for college.
